Question: what do you get if you take 1 Mercury Music Prize award nomination for ‘Sigh No More’ + 1 Mercury Music Prize win for The xx + an evening of great music with friends? Answer: 4 very happy – if not slightly worse for wear yesterday – Mumford & Sons.
The xx album is amongst the top 5 played on the M&S stereo and has been a consistent source of great pleasure for the band ever since it debuted earlier this year – so a great big heartfelt congratulations on a entirely deserved win. 
UK folks: if you’d like to witness some of the action from the night you can watch the music highlights, including our boys’ performance of ‘The Cave‘, and debate on the iPlayer. Before the show, the BBC asked all of the nominated acts what they would do if they won which the band took as bate to provide some suitably amusing responses.
