I’ve only opened one, but mine is ok. The Wolf and believe correctly labelled, sounding marvellous.April 24, 2015 at 1:01 pm #3060
Mine has correct labels and it’s a UK pressing. I noticed that there are two versions of the barcode sticker on the shrinkwrap. Mine is the UK Island Records type, but I’ve also seen US Glassnote type barcodes. If anyone has bought their copy in the US, can you tell me if there’s a Glassnote logo on the labels? The UK version has an Island record logo (the palm tree) and the new Gentlemen of the Road logo.
If anyone has a mislabeled copy and is unhappy with that, I would be very interested in trading it with you for a proper version.April 24, 2015 at 5:33 pm #3075
I have a US copy but I haven’t opened it yet. I have one I purchased in store and one I bought online that hasn’t come yet. The one I purchased in store, the back is completely white and there is a barcode sticker on it but no record label. The barcode is in the bottom right corner of the back so I am assuming the label might be under there?
KatApril 24, 2015 at 7:56 pm #3077
The UK sticker on the shrinkwrap has the catalogue number 4730218 above barcode 0 602547 302182.
The US sticker on the shrinkwrap doesn’t have a catalogue number, just barcode 8 10599 02082.
For both editions the back is completely white.
I’m referring to the round labels on the vinyl itself. My UK version has the Island and GOTR logos. I assume that the US version has the Glassnote and GOTR logos. The spacing and sequencing of the US barcode is consistent with all other US Glassnote releases. If someone has an open US copy, could you confirm my theory?April 24, 2015 at 10:11 pm #3082
Just called Glassnote. After explaining the label reversal, the guy told me I have the “Golden Ticket” and laughed a little. Apparently there were some production issues but they were rare. So, he is sending me a new copy tonight.
Apparently I have a rare copy! :)April 25, 2015 at 4:15 pm #3100
I’m excited to see what the upcoming Hopeless Wanderer 7″ will be like. I wonder if it will be etched on the back like the box set release, or whether it may have a B-side? If so it will probably just be another live Red Rocks track.
It is odd how we’re getting this now, 2 years after the single was released. I can only imagine they had surplus from the box set? Or perhaps just to please us completist fans!April 26, 2015 at 1:45 am #3103
Ahh, I see, Petraspective. I haven’t the heart to open it yet, sorry. I will let you know when I do though.

I just saw an opened US 7″ posted on eBay and the labels have the Glassnote logo instead of the Island logo. Need to get me one of those then.
And Remixoma, I don’t believe you’re gonna get anything close to that asking price for the mislabeled single. Even copies of the 12 Babel test pressings in the red cover never fetched more than $300 (I’ve seen 2 on eBay). I’d say the mislabeled single is much too gimmicky for anyone to fork out more than $50, at least I wouldn’t.April 26, 2015 at 1:03 pm #3113
Petraspective, do you not count the 12 red Babel test pressings in your discography? Also you have the limited SNM gatefold listed but not the standard US gatefold release? Just interested as you include the numbered and standard release of Little Lion Man. Also, I wonder what will be done with the Wilder Mind test pressings from the RSD listening parties?
I have pretty much every vinyl record release apart from:
Mumford & Sons EP
Love Your Ground EP
The Cave and the Open Sea
Wedding Band EP
And obviously the red Babel test pressing. I’ve been bidding on the early EPs for literally years but I always lose out by a few pounds or so. Anyone got any spares? LolApril 27, 2015 at 9:22 am #3136
I still need to list all the iTunes Festival projects and I’m planning to include the Babel and Wilder Mind test pressings. I believe there are 12 Babels and Wilder Mind was played in 21 stores, but I’m not sure if those stores only got one copy and if they were maybe even supposed to send them back.
I also haven’t added anything like the Brave Soundtrack, Inside Llewyn Davis or The New Basement Tapes. I’m not sure if I will list all of those. Probably only cameo’s as Mumford & Sons and not individual contributions by Marcus Mumford or any of the other guys. There’s no end to it, since they were all over the place in the scene before they made it big.
It sounds like I need to update the Sigh No More vinyl listing. I have a copy of the numbered UK pressing in a gatefold cover and the European COOP pressing in a regular cover. I wasn’t aware of the Glassnote pressing having a gatefold cover. Is that a limited pressing as well or do all the Glassnote vinyls for SNM have a gatefold cover?April 28, 2015 at 11:14 pm #3150
The Wilder Mind records played in store each had a record label member present, so I think they were taken back to HQ afterwards.
Not 100% sure but I that the US SNM general release was gatefold. There are lots of un numbered SNM gatefolds out there, I’ve seen people from the US say that they ordered them from the web store. I’m sure someone on here must have one!May 1, 2015 at 10:43 am #3195
So my Hopeless Wanderer 7″ single from the store arrived today and I hate to say it, but I feel a bit conned.
What arrived was just the same record from the Babel singles box set in the same plastic film sleeve. It is just a leftover.
This would be fine if the listing on the store had specified this, but it included a picture of the Hopeless Wanderer artwork, so made it seem as if it would come in a cardboard picture sleeve like all the other singles. I wouldn’t be complaining if there had been no picture, or if it was just a picture of the record itself, but the store made it seem as if you were getting the full package, not just the record.
Would it have been hard to print a limited amount of cardboard artwork sleeves to package them in? Maybe they planned to but decided against it and that’s why we received them a month early.
Not that I need it, but the store also specified that it would come with a free MP3 download, it doesn’t.
Very disappointedMay 1, 2015 at 2:08 pm #3201
Sounds like I just escaped! I got an email yesterday telling me that my Hopeless Wanderer 7″ order was cancelled. When I asked if the whole release got cancelled or if they ran out of copies, they said that I was too late with ordering (I only ordered three weeks ago).
I checked the catalogue number they announced (3747599) and it is the same as the catalogue number for the Hopeless Wanderer 7″ from the box. I can’t imagine they would’ve produced overstock of this one specific single from the box. Is it maybe a new pressing? Is the etching on the B-side the same as on the one in the box set?
But you are right, the picture that was shown in the store made it look like it would be a new release with new artwork. Very disappointing… I would send it back and demand a full refund (including shipping).May 2, 2015 at 11:14 am #3207
Thanks Petraspective! I have sent a complaint and expect a full refund. Had problems with the M&S store before, this is the worst. Exact same record as from the box set, no idea why they had extra copies.May 2, 2015 at 2:13 pm #3209
They have a different company managing the store now. In the past they used to have Sandbag, but now it’s digitalstores.co.uk. So I would say bad experience with Sandbag doesn’t necessarily mean bad service from the new store management.
That said, I just went to my local record store to buy the Wilder Mind Vinyl (the webstore says May 4th as release date, but it seems to be May 1st). I noticed that they’re selling the Deluxe Edition €3 cheaper than in the official webstore and the vinyl actually even €5 cheaper. I’m not buying in the webstore anymore, unless it’s unique items I really want. I will check if I can find the Collector’s Box in a local store here as well.
