'The Cave' Is Out and About and It Wants to Make Mates with Your Wallet!

Monday, March 1, 2010

So we've established that Mumford HQ is actually quite partial to Sundays. We also seem to have gathered from your comments that you, in turn - not so partial. Your words lead me to believe that in fact, quite the reverse is true, and for you, Sundays do still very much... Suck.

A misery compounded no doubt by the fact that, as sure as night follows day, Monday day follows Sunday night. Or something. Now, not even Mumford HQ's perennially sunny disposition (*cough*) is immune to what can - at best - be described as Monday morning's unique 'charms'; personally, we pick ourselves up with a veritably varied feast of toast. Kitchen gets out of hand, we're mixing up the medicine like Danny - peanut butter, Nutella, bananas, Marmite,  jam, just go with the flow baby, anything goes...

We can also recommend another sure-fire remedy for the Monday morning blues: Mumford & Sons' third single to be taken from Sigh No More, The Cave! Beautiful! And absolutely guaranteed to put a smile on your face, total banker, and yours for only a finger-full of pennies digitally on iTunes and physically (stand up 7" vinyl, London loves you) for the credit-munch friendly price of £2.99 from our pals at HMV!

Go on, cheer yourself up, that's an order. We also order you to make some peanut butter and bananas on toast, you can thank us later... Unless you hate either ingredient... Or are allergic... In which case, I hear cornflakes are nice with fruit, I'd roll with that.

I have to say it was the best concert i have been to and with Oasis, stereophonics and the mighty Bon Jovi in my back catologue of gigs, you need to take credit for this! Will certainly be keeping an eye on you guys for future gigs! (The Geordies love you! come back soon)

  • Thank you Mumford and Sons. After 37 years of my life you have awoken my soul. Bought your cd on Friday 5th March 2010. I was driving home from work on that day when I first listened to it. Your words combined with events from that day opened up feelings of extreme emotion, I am still inclear whether these feelings have been subconciously repressed or have just remained far away in my mind, just waiting for a day like this. For the first time I have experienced the feeling of paternal love.

  • The only thing wrong with Sundays is that Monday is not far away. Peanut butter and bananas? Oh yes! Give cheese and marmalade a go, it's great! :D

  • A rare bird indeed is the album that turns me into a sentimental idiot. My wife asked me why my eyes were red when I came home from the market. All I could say is I just listened to one of the most beautiful records I've heard in the last 50 years. Well done guys! My only hope is it's not too late to get tickets to the New York City or Mass show. I think I'm a few days too late though. Come to Connecticut (The Oakdale Thearter!). I will spread the word of this great album to everyone I know.
