Hope everyone is excited for the concert tonight in Chicago! This place has been crazy all week with the hockey team, but now we get to enjoy M&S coming into our city! I have one question though as it has been changing constantly.
What time exactly do the gates open to the beach?
The ticket says both 3:00pm and 4:30pm, however, most articles say they open at 3:00pm. I hope I am not the only one who is confused.

Does anyone know why the concert was cancelled in Chicago tonight? Poor communication! Any word on rescheduled concert or refunds??June 17, 2015 at 6:28 pm #3692
**Tonight’s Concert at Montrose Beach & Park POSTPONED UNTIL FRIDAY 19th JUNE**
It is with massive regret that we have to announce that tonight’s headline show in Chicago has to be postponed to Friday June 19.
Despite huge efforts against really unfavourable weather, the local promoters have been unable to build us a stage in time for the show tonight. It takes a lot for us to pull a show,j it’s something we try to avoid at all costs, but tonight it’s just not going to happen. Of course we are devastated.
So what we’re planning to do is to play this show on Friday night. We hope that as many of you as possible will come on Friday instead, where your tickets will be valid.
If you can’t make the show on Friday, you can instead redeem your tickets at our Waverly GOTR Stopover this weekend, all details will be posted on the Gentlemen of the Road website. http://www.gentlemenoftheroad.com
And of course if neither of those are going to work for you, you can get a full refund here. https://www.etix.com/ticket/online/help2.jsp
We are so sorry. We are absolutely gutted and more than a little frustrated – this is our biggest ever headline show away from home, so you can understand that for all the days not to be able to do a show, this one hurts the most.
But Friday night is going to be all the more special for it, so we really, really hope you can make it.June 17, 2015 at 6:41 pm #3696
I think the communication is just terrible. My kids travelled 3 hours, took off work to attend. They both work Friday night and this is their favorite group. Nothing on the local news or this website. Apparently the weather is fine in Chicago with overhead clouds and spinkles. That really causes them to cancel a concert?? I personally think they just didn’t get the stage up in time. Doesn’t this group consider their fans have lives and time commitments? I wouldn’t support them. I think this experience has changed my kids opinion of Mumford.June 17, 2015 at 6:50 pm #3697
Hi, i hear your frustrations in relation to the show tonight. It cannot have been an easy decision for the band to make.
The statement captures their disappointment too:
“Despite huge efforts against really unfavourable weather, the local promoters have been unable to build us a stage in time for the show tonight. It takes a lot for us to pull a show, it’s something we try to avoid at all costs, but tonight it’s just not going to happen. Of course we are devastated”
Everyone’s safety has to come first, & I guess if the stage was not complete then the show could not go ahead.
I really hope that you and your family will be able to catch the band at another point in time. AnnaJune 17, 2015 at 11:24 pm #3701
Marcus, please please please come do an impromptu show at “the dock bar” steps away from cricket hill. A stage is already set up and a reggae band is playing, view is beautiful,I’m sure they wouldn’t mind some Mumford/reggae!!!! My wife is in tears, I can’t aford another night off from work, and there is thousands showing up getting the bad news. We didn’t get the memo. It would be the best night of all fans lives!!!! Il buy the shots!!!! Please!!!!! Thank u, husband of your number one fan.June 19, 2015 at 1:33 am #3708
I too can’t make either option for the postponed show. Feeling very bummed. I just seem to have bad luck when it comes to Mumford&sons. I went to Bonnaroo in 2013, #1 reason to see them. Show was cancelled. For very good reasons but cancelled none the less. Signed up for an invite to the Milwaukee show that summer. Never got one. So I couldn’t get tickets. Was so excited when I got tickets to the Chicago show. Was like yes, finally! Only to be cancelled:postponed. I hope one day I will finally get some luck on my side. Until then…so bummed!

Is anyone else having trouble getting their ticket refunded? I drove 9 hours to celebrate my 16 year old’s birthday at the concert and we can’t make it Friday. The announcement said that all tickets would be refunded. However, ETIX is not refunding mine. I would like Mumford and Sons to know that ETIX is not following up on the statement that all tickets would be refunded. Huge bummer!June 25, 2015 at 5:18 pm #3746
This was a pretty disappointing set up for the neighborhood. Several of the city’s homeless had to be relocated due to this concert. Did M&S put them up in a hotel for the night? Huge bummer for Uptown; we have several concert venues. Stick to those.June 29, 2015 at 6:25 pm #3764
We are from Kentucky, and made a special trip (before the birth of our baby next month) with another couple to Chicago to see this show. As you know, the concert was postponed two days. We were unable to stay due to work.
We purchased 4 tickets from stubhub.com on May 2nd. Order number #178132235 for a total of $580 after all fees and taxes.
We immediately posted the tickets back on stubhub.com, for sale once we learned the concert was postponed (listing ID 1152851110) but we were unable to sell them.
After travel expenses, hotel, and the tickets, we were out well over $1000.
Is there any chance we can at least be reimbursed the $580 for the tickets? I have been in touch with both etix and stubhub — they both said to contact the show directly. There is no ‘contact us’ that I can find. I didn’t want to post anything publicly, as I understand things happen and am not trying to be ugly. I’d just like to know our options. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing back.

Thanks for your message. Sorry to hear that you were unable to attend the re-scheduled show. Buying tickets through a secondary selling website like stub hub has it’s positives & it’s negatives. I have done it myself!
One of the negatives is that as you did not originally purchase the tickets you will not get information, usually by email, about changes to shows/refunds etc. And it is likely that the original buyer has been getting all that information.
As a secondary buyer you miss out on this. Sorry I do not have any further information. Sending you and your family warm wishes at this exciting time for you,
