I am - contrary to the controversial scrawlings of Xerox George on the walls of Mumford HQ’s latrine - not, ‘a fat town crier’. Nor, just for the record, do i have ‘the hair of a wet hippo’. You’ll get yours George, I know where your Nan lives - I am, in loose truth, an announcer of great subtlety and charm: inter-weaving some of the finest threads known to language into life’s great written-word tapestry.
No, not for me the bell and bellow.
Except of course, when announci… Okay, not announcing, you’ve read this on a hundred other sites, in a hundred other ways already, so let’s go with confirming… When confirming that our beloved Sons will be palying this years Glastonbury!
*Ding-Dong Ding-Dong*
Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Mumford and Sons Are Playing Glastonbury!
*Ding-Dong Ding-Dong*
Please do note the change in font colour above on the ‘ding dong’s’; went with a brassy-bell yellow to serve as a kind of visual aid. Nice touch? Well I thought so anyway…
I don’t need to tell you how amazing the Eavis family’s festival is, nor how hard and tirelessly they work ensuring it remains amazing year in, year out, do I? I shall instead slap you about the face with these facts: Friday 25th June 2010. Mumford & Sons. John Peel Stage. Boom. An. Ting.
This is going to be very, very special.

Please can you come to Perth? Most isolated city in the world, but what isn’t there to love about that? It’ll take you days to fly to here, but you’re going to Adelaide, why?

You know who else like you? Canada. Specifically, the city of Calgary likes you. We’re by the Rocky Mountains. We host a huge Stampede. You should come visit (please).

Hello. I left my heart at Wounded Knee is immensely touching, somber, and beautiful. You are right. It is dense, full of emotion and soul wrenching, but continues to be a piece of literature that, in my view, is necessary. Have you read anything on the Trail of Tears? If not, I recommend even to wiki it. It’s another example of relocation forced upon the Native Americans.

X1FM loves to showcase bands who have come out of nowhere and manage to crush the charts. Manchester Orchestra has done just that this year. And, that is why they are “This Week’s Greatest Band Ever. You can request both of their singles “I’ve Got Friends and “Shake It Out at X1FM.com.

nearly all the crucial info is here, however, what time? cos if i don’t get there early enough i’ll be trapped outside the tent with the many many heads of people obscuring my vision, like last year with florence and machine, which sucked beyond the telling of it.
