These south American shows are always full of energy. I still remember Lollapalooza 2013 very fondly. These videos are pretty high quality and I hope you enjoy them.

Well, Forever’s been around for a while. It was one of the very early tracks written by Winnie right after the Babel tour but they couldn’t include it Wilder Mind. I have a feeling they’ll find a place for it in the next record, though, judging by how extensively they played it towards the end of the last tour.

As for a new album, Marcus has let out in an interview that he’s actively writing new material now. Also, a few festival gigs have already been announced for 2017 starting from May if I remember correctly. So I’m pretty sure there’ll be an album release sometime before that.

    Fingers crossed, friend :)

A couple of decent videos from the Sydney Domain

    Ghosts That We Knew

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuzgwLCDp-Y

With A Little Help From Our Friends (the bass drum is a bit too violent but an excellent view)

    Cold Arms

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI5PGlOIOI4

This next one’s pretty weird. It’s very good footage, but none of it’s complete. You can check it out if you like. Also from Sydney.

    That’s it for now.

Very very new Apple Music Festival footage from the London Roundhouse.

New as in, fresh on YouTube.

I suggest you *cough* sneakily download it *cough* watch it immediately before someone deletes it. It may happen…

Very cool concert, by the way. The focus has been shifted to the Wilder Mind songs over the previous two albums. Monster returns. Winston shreds it for Sweet Dreams with Jack Garratt. The weirdest opening of them all, with Snake Eyes as usual, followed by Believe, the other slow burner, and perhaps most surprisingly, Wilder Mind.

Well, it’s been about six months. Six months since this album was released. Wow. It honestly doesn’t feel like that long ago when I went on my first late night bicycle ride through the city, to get a feel for the whole thing.

I’ve had enough and more time for that, I think. And I’ve come to the conclusion that this is perhaps my favourite Mumford and Sons album out of them all. Maybe not the best, but definitely my favourite.

I just got myself some beautiful new headphones, and have only recently discovered how rich and deep and amazingly dense James Ford’s production is on this album. For songs like Just Smoke and Monster and Believe, there are just so many many layers of texture and sound, all of them distinct, yet coming together in such a wonderful way.

Then there’s the lyrics. They’re a lot simpler than the previous two albums, with a lot less referencing and pyrotechnics, but that makes them a lot more raw and emotional, which works very well with the overall shift in instrumentation.

The length is just right, I feel. None of the songs are superfluous and none of them need to be cut out. I wasn’t a huge fan of Wilder Mind at first but the song has slowly begin growing on me.

All in all, I’m in love with this album, somehow even more than I was six months ago.

Do any of you have a half yearly retrospective? I’m especially interested in hearing BenJ’s opinion on Wilder Mind since our Hurt/Heal days. ;)

    Holy…just Wow.

It was kind of mind blowing, watching that. Like, jumping into the crowd during Ditmas is fine. It’s actually kinda nice to see Marcus going from this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HTuEHLnUC8

To the new, confident, self assured Marcus.

But it has been going a bit too far, hasn’t it? I mean, beyond this, he’s just dropping f-bombs left, right and center. I’m not Mr. Puritanical, believe me. But I wanted to take my little brother to one of their concerts since he’s quite a fan as well and I don’t think I can anymore. The whole atmosphere does seem a bit more hostile. Self confidence is great. Developing a stage presence is great. Hurling tubes of metal at people who’ve paid hard-earned money to come see your shows is not cool at all, even though it may have been a complete accident.

I was thinking of making a thread for this but I felt that it was a bit taboo.

Beautiful and hardcore. I agree with Anna.

I hope I’ll be able to see them live one day.

They came to India once, and we treated them like dirt.

    Stupid countrymen.
