Is anyone else a little dissatisfied with their purchase of Wilder Mind deluxe edition? I haven’t even listened to the album yet I’m just coming to terms with the lack of creativity in the casing. The disc case is really thin cardboard and nowhere on this casing is the discography of the album nor a inclination that I have actually purchased the ‘Deluxe’ rather than just the standard edition. The discography is in fact on the last 2 pages of a 10 page picture booklet, rather than somewhere on the casing itself which I find strange considering the casing is quite large when opened fully clearly enough space to allow a discography.
Overall I just feel quite disatisfied after paying £14 for my pre ordered album that their seems very little effort in creating the casing. To me it feels like my money is not even going as far as to produce a worth while album case, I don’t actually feel I can show I’ve got my money’s worth.
Anyone else sharing my views?
P.S I feel I should add this is purely about album casing and no reference at all to Mumford and Sons beautiful music.
Thanks, Dan.May 2, 2015 at 6:11 pm #3211
Well at least you have your album!! How stupid is it that the release date is May 4th yet depending on what Country you live in you may get it early. Hasnt been released to the US yet. So while I get to see everyone raving about the album I have to wait even though I pre-ordered it.May 2, 2015 at 6:21 pm #3213
I agree about timing, seems like it should be released the same day everywhere. I did get a confirmation email that it’s on the way and hope it gets to my door on the 4th!May 2, 2015 at 7:21 pm #3216
Well that’s a first, being from UK I’m always used to being behind on release dates. Well let me know your feedback when your editions arrive friends.:)May 2, 2015 at 8:38 pm #3218
I am in the UK, I have not got my copy yet. I ordered the deluxe version. Sorry to hear your disappointment on its presentation.
Hope the new music made up for this? What are your thoughts on the new album?May 17, 2015 at 11:06 am #3368
I’m very pleased to see that someone else is very dissatisfied with the DeLuxe album. My daughter bought it for me via Amazon and I was thinking that she had ordered, or been sent, the basic version by mistake. There is absolutely no information that I can find which gives details of what the Deluxe version has that the basic one doesn’t. I feel I have paid £3 extra for nothing. Please, Mumfords, explain.May 18, 2015 at 8:16 pm #3384
The four live tracks are your bonus, but that’s all. And the packaging is a bit more extensive. I believe the standard edition is a 2-panel foldout, while the deluxe is a 4-panel foldout.
I think so many people got the deluxe edition that they standard one is going to be the hard to find one! My local record store only stocked the deluxe edition.May 26, 2015 at 3:31 pm #3441
So I’ve paid £3 for two extra pieces of cardboard?June 10, 2015 at 7:00 am #3602
I was disappointed that the four bonus songs were live versions of songs on the album. This bothered me because the four live songs on the album were posted on YouTube by the band, so there was nothing special getting those live tracks since they were already posted on YouTube before the album came out. I like the live versions as bonus tracks, but I don’t like every bonus track being a live version that everyone can hear on YouTube. I really wanted the song “Forever” to be a bonus track, since it was apparently the “gateway” drug to the album and just missed being on the 12 track album.
