Hello. I’ve been listening to the live version of the new track “Fool You’ve Landed,” which will be released on Johannesburg. I was wondering what the lyrics are on certain parts. I’ve pieced together most of the song, or at least I hope. Here’s the link and the lyrics I heard from the video. The “question-marked” areas are where I’m struggling. I love how it’s sung by Winston!
Downtown head and high-rise eyes/So naive to how the skyline lies//Must do nothing for your mind/And you/At least you held my gaze so long/With your down-home heart and ?/Stand by the man that you call home
You know I love you now/I will love you then/You can see in my eyes/It doesn’t really matter/????/My heart so suddenly useless/What a fool you’ve landed/Ohh, what a fool you call home
??/Let it out before the moment goes/Slip back up from ’round your toes/Before you lose me to the storm/You chose all the words that align your beating head/All the lines that leave your skin marked red/All the truth behind your new-found dread
And I’ll Love You Now, And We’ll Love You Then, And You Can See In My Eyes It Doesn’t Really Matter, But I Call, That The Two Of Us, Were Not In My Heart And So We’re Suddenly Useless, What A Fool You’ve Landed, Oh Oh Oh, What A Fool You Call Home.
To me , on the bit of the chorus that we don’t really know, sounds like “man I’m cold and man I’m toothless and man my heart is so suddenly useless”. Something along those lines. It definitely says “toothless”
Sounds to me like “my love calls, my love truth is, I know my heart is suddenly useless, what a fool you’ve landed.”
From past music we know that they sing so quickly they can fit many words into one sound, and this seems to fit with the song. But it could be my love is toothless meaning the love isn’t aggressive, it’s gentle. So that’s possible too!
